The new £17.5 million Carrongrange ASN School in Grangemouth will accommodate 190 young people with additional support needs. Set to provide pupils with a welcoming and flexible learning environment, the new school will include sensory rooms, swimming and hydrotherapy pools, a life skills training flat and a garden.
This project was delivered by hub East Central Scotland for Falkirk Council, alongside Ogilvie Construction as the main contractors. It is being developed as part of the Governments £1.8 billion Scotland’s "Schools for the Future" building programme.
B+W was responsible for the design, supply, install and commissioning of the filtration systems for the new 17-metre, trapezoid main pool and hydrotherapy pool. B+W constructed both pools using Myrtha technology.
Scottish Economy Minister Keith Brown visited the school prior to the opening for the new term in August 2017. He said, “When complete, this new school will provide state-of-the-art educational accommodation for its pupils…I am delighted to be in Grangemouth today to help mark the start of the process which will result in a fantastic new school that the whole community can be proud of for many years to come.”
