Working alongside Morrison Construction as the main contractor and JM Architects, B+W is thrilled to have recently completed work at the new James Gillespie High School in Edinburgh. Set to serve 1,150 pupils, the school has been built in stages on its current site to offer separate buildings for general teaching, sport and performing arts. Sitting on the grounds of Bruntsfield House, the historic Grade-A listed building has also been refurbished as part of the project.
B+W was responsible for the design, installation and commissioning of the Myrtha Ceramic 1 pool (25m x 8.5m) and associated water filtration treatment system, which is based on medium rate sand filtration with chlorine disinfection, pH correction and UV sterilisation.
Partially funded by the Scottish Government through the ‘Schools for the Future Programme’ - which is managed by the Scottish Futures Trust - this project was delivered in partnership with Hub South East Scotland Limited and opened in August 2016.
