The Lasswade Centre's brand new sports and leisure facilities opened in July 2013. The facilities are part of the £37.1 million Lasswade High School Centre, which has been hailed as a prototype school for the future. The project was funded by the Council while the new school is being delivered with joint money from the Council and Scottish Government's Scottish Futures Trust.
The new community facilities feature state-of-the art gyms and gymnastics academy, as well as a 25-metre swimming pool. BAM Construction completed the works, which also include a feature entrance with coloured glazing, community meeting rooms, conference suite, plasma screens, Costa Coffee internet cafe and a new public library.
B+W worked alongside BAM to design, supply, install and commission the water filtration and treatment plant for the pool (25m x 13m) complete with a movable floor and submersible boom, spa pool, sauna and steam room. Initial installation commenced April 2012 with commissioning May 2013.
