Northfield Leisure Centre is the third centre to be opened as part of Birmingham City Councils £40 million investment programme in the city’s leisure centre stock.
Designed by Calderpeel Architects - with ISG Construction as the main contractors - the new project was overseen and will be operated by Birmingham Community Leisure Trust. The £7.7 million complex boasts a range of facilities including a 25-metre swimming pool, a learner pool (13m x 7m) and a health suite with a 75-station gym and group exercise studios.
Following our successful completion of Erdington and Stechford Leisure Centre's under the BCLT development, B+W is delighted to add Northfield Leisure Centre to our ever-growing portfolio. We were responsible for the design, supply, install and commissioning of both pools associated filtration systems. At the opening of the new facility earlier this month, Jamie Bryant (partnership director for BCLT) said, "Although this is the third new facility we have completed in Birmingham, each project is an individual challenge and we are pleased to have worked successfully again with all our partners to bring the plans to fruition”.
We look forward to moving on to start work on the fourth centre being opened as part of the BCLT programme, Inknield Port Loop.
