Kingspark School in Dundee is a special state school for girls and boys aged from 4 to 18. The school was purpose built in the late seventies and is situated in a modern, well-designed building with excellent facilities including a library, soft play room, sensory awareness room, large assembly/games hall, gymnasium, well-equipped rooms for practical and aesthetic subjects, swimming pool and now the recently added hydrotherapy pool.
The physical effects of immersion can be developed with a programme of water-based therapy to achieve various goals, which can help in both rehabilitation and in the maintenance of normal movement and function.
The hydrotherapy pool was designed by B+W with the students physical disabilities and medical problems taken into consideration. The pool includes finger jets in the pool surround, three jacuzzi jets within the pool wall in a seated area and an air pad on the floor which is operated by a sensor switch.
