B+W is delighted to have recently completed work at this £38 million project to create a new modern educational and community facility in Forfar. As part of the "Scotland’s Schools for the Future" programme, the Forfar Community Campus project will incorporate the replacement for Forfar Academy, Forfar Swimming Pool and Lochside Leisure Centre.
The new facility is being developed by Angus Council in partnership with the Hub East Central Scotland in order to create an inspiring environment with an enhanced range of facilities for use both during and out with the school day by the whole community.
B+W worked alongside Robertson Group as the main contractors on this project. We were responsible for the design, supply, install and commissioning of both the 25-metre, 6-lane main pool and training pool (10m x 7m). Both pools were constructed using Myrtha Classic Technology, which has many benefits over traditional concrete pool construction. The training pool also benefits from a full movable floor, with depths ranging from 0–3-metres deep, which gives the client the flexibility to cater for various target groups and multi-activities.
