Kellett School is the renowned British International School located in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong. Conceived in 1976, the school was founded by parents looking to provide a British standard of education for their children. Nearly forty years later, this new ground-breaking preparatory/senior campus caters for around 900 students with world class facilities, including the first non-government swimming pool facility incorporating a movable floor. This provides the school with the ability to offer more effective swimming pool time to all ages with the entire 25-metre pool being variable for suitable teaching depths, and 2-metres deep for competition.
Designed by P&T Architects and Engineers Ltd, with limited land available in Hong Kong, the new building incorporates a rooftop 'sky pitch' with perimeter running track. In addition to the latest teaching facilities, the development also features a theatre, an outdoor multi-purpose sports court, drama studio and extensive gymnasium.
B+W received the instruction to proceed with design works for the ozone filtration system, water treatment plant and moving floor for the swimming pool. Once Penta Ocean Construction had been appointed, B+W was contracted to supply and install the complete swimming pool plant, designed in accordance with the guidelines of the pool water treatment advisory group.
